SSR Cargo Rack
Our SSR (Super Strong Rack) Cargo Rack is designed to fit on all Sur-Ron Light Bee and Segway X model bikes. If you want a strong and light-weight rack that allows you to carry cargo for work or for play, AND looks great, look no further. Using your bike for camping, farming, hunting, commuting, or delivery services gets a whole lot easier with the help of this sucker! Maximum weight of cargo for this rack is up to *35 lbs (16 kg). We’ve designed the center section of this rack to have no passthrough holes, so it outperforms the stock fender by providing nearly 7 more inches of splash protection! No more soggy shirt or jacket when riding in the wet stuff. Best of all, this rack allows you to ride as hard as you always have when you aren’t hauling cargo. No need to remove the rack if you’re headed to the track or onto the toughest of trails.
The rack is 100% made from 5052 aluminum. Each part has a tough black powder-coat finish to match the other components on your bike, and keep your ride looking fresh for years to come. Total weight of this rack is 2.4 lbs (1.1 kg). Every rack comes with 2 super strong side brackets, 1 top plate, all necessary stainless steel mounting hardware, installation instructions, and even the required drill bit needed for the install.
The rack features slots and notches along the top plate and the support brackets to allow you to attach luggage and bags with straps, bungees, or cargo nets. We added some through-holes as well to allow bolting on a crate, weather-proof box, or anything you can think of! We’ve even included some threaded holes specifically to allow use of the MIK Click Go system. The MIK system unlocks the ability to securely attach and remove accessories in a matter of seconds. Installation of this SSR Cargo Rack requires transferring holes from one side of the subframe tubes through to the other side of those tubes, but the holes are already in the subframe so no measuring is necessary. We’ve included the drill bits you’ll need to make this a cinch! No major modifications are required, so returning the bike to a stock configuration is easily accomplished. Bonus, when using this rack you won’t need the cheap plastic clips that hold the seat cowl on! You’re welcome ;)
This rack is designed to allow the addition of some of our other accessories (sold separately). Those currently include:
“SSR MOLLE Side Plates”” for the addition of panniers (side bags).
“MOLLE Crate” which bolts to this rack and lets you carry loads of stuff in the crate or strapped to the MOLLE grid.
Please note that this rack is designed to work with the original seat that came with your bike. This rack can work with aftermarket seats, but we haven’t tested it with all of them. Installing with an aftermarket seat may affect the usable load area on top of the rack.
*We’ve rated the load limit of this rack at 35 lbs (16 kg). That’s more than the weight of 4 gallons of water for reference. This rack can actually hold much more weight (we’ve even stood on it!) but doing so could potentially bend or damage your bike’s subframe. The 35 lb rating is for securely attached loads on mostly smooth or mild terrain. If you’re wailing whoops or hitting jumps with 35lbs on the rack you’re a maniac! While we have torture-tested this rack with the entire weight of an adult passenger, the rack is NOT designed for passengers. The subframe will likely fail before this rack does, so please think about how you’re loading the rack and don’t overload it. Adding any amount of cargo weight to your bike will change how the bike handles and performs, so be smart, have fun, and as always, ride safe :)
